The wedding celebration ended in a night… or maybe happened till the next morning. A marriage begins in the ordinary mornings that follow.
For months, our lives moved toward a handful of dates. Invitations, clothes, rituals, journeys, phone calls, lists… and lists about the lists. Then, almost at once, it was all over.
The lights came down. The flowers were carried away. Relatives returned home with photographs, fun moments and their own versions of what happened. We were left with something quieter than the wedding and far more important… a life that now belonged to both of us.
A wedding is wonderfully public. Marriage is mostly private. It lives in small decisions, shared tiredness, unexpected laughter, and the everyday work of learning another person without trying to rewrite them.
We did not simply finish a celebration. We began the long, gentle practice of choosing each other.
Our first journey as husband and wife took us high into the Himalayas. Reaching Annapurna Base Camp together felt surreal and dramatic, but the lesson was simple… nobody climbs well by rushing the person beside them. Sometimes one leads. Sometimes one waits. Both are forms of love.
We returned with aching legs, full memory cards and a clearer sense of what we want this marriage to be… not perfect, and certainly not permanently photogenic, but honest, kind and sturdy enough for difficult weather.
This website began as an invitation. It helped us say, “Please come and stand with us.”
Now it becomes a journal… a place to record what happens after everyone has gone home: the journeys, the photographs, the work, the ridiculous moments, and the quiet ones.
To everyone who came, called, blessed us, helped our families, or held us in your thoughts… we thank you a lot. Your warmth did not end with the wedding. We carry it into the home and the life we are making.
